April 4th, 2023 – Silver Spring, MD – Contemporaries Inc. is thrilled to celebrate our 32nd anniversary in business providing a full range of staffing solutions to our customers and partners. In 1991, Fred and Betsy Donohue put their experience in the professional staffing industry together to create a company that put people first, whether that be customers, employees, or partners.
In celebration of our anniversary, we’ll be highlighting the people, values, and practices that make Contemporaries what it is. We created our five core values to build and support the growth and flourishing of our people and putting them first. Those core values are:

What does it mean to put Family First? Contemporaries was founded as a family owned business and it remains a family owned business with Fred and Betsy’s daughter Erin Allen at the helm as our President. But to us, family means more than just the people you are biologically related to. Friends are family, our customers are family, our employees are family, and our partners are family. We make all of our decisions with this core value at the center. It is our guiding star for how we treat the people we encounter.
After Family First comes our second core value and that’s Fun. Creating a Fun environment for our team members is about establishing a workplace where trust, productivity, and creativity can thrive.
