Yes, Contemporaries is considered a woman-owned small business (WOSB) by SBA guidelines. We are also a 2nd generation family, woman-owned-and-operated company. We also have numerous professional affiliations.
Contemporaries’ selection process is extensive. Our recruiters pre-screen candidates; conduct a comprehensive interview; test each candidate thoroughly on software/computer literacy, as well as their knowledge of office policy and procedure, grammar, spelling, and math skills. Options for determining professional etiquette are available.

Yes. We understand that not every employer is in a position to hire or bring on staff. If you currently have employees that need some training, we offer several different online programs. Should you have the need to complete a background check or drug screening, we have those capabilities. We also have the capabilities to put your staff on our payroll for tax, unemployment, and healthcare purposes. Yes, many of our employees have gained full-time, permanent employment through us, through outright permanent placement or, as temp-to-perm positions. Please refer to our How We Work page.
After your resume has been reviewed by one of our recruiters, we will then schedule you to come into the office and go through our registration process. This registration process includes testing on Microsoft Office Suite and various administrative skills.
After testing, you will then meet with a recruiter for an interview to discuss what makes you suitable for the types of positions for which we staff. The entire process typically takes between 1½ to 2 hours.
Placement time varies from one week to the next. We have new assignments coming in every day, but we also have new candidates registering every day. You can help speed up this process by making yourself as marketable, flexible and available as possible. It also helps to tailor your resume to specific opportunities to highlight any relevant experiences and skills.
