Federal Focus: EDWOSB and WOSB

Contemporaries is certified as a Economically-Disadvantaged Woman Owned Business? This is in addition to our WOSB certification. If you need to meet your WOSB/EDWOSB goals, give us a call.

What’s the difference between WOSB and EDWOSB? In 2011, a Small Business Administration ruling mandated that contracting officers set aside a certain amount of opportunities for certified women-owned small businesses (WOSBs) and economically disadvantaged women-owned small businesses (EDWOSBs). This ensures that women-owned small businesses have an equal opportunity to acquire Federal contracts. The Federal government’s goal is to award 5% of contract dollars to WOSBs and EDWOSBs. Federal contracting officers can restrict competition for an acquisition to WOSBs or award a sole source contract.

Contemporaries can help you meet your WOSB and EDWOSB set-aside goals. The WOSB Federal Contract Program is limited to only certain NAICS codes. Contemporaries’ primary NAICS codes are included in this list. Contracts have a $4 million limit for services. If you’ve failed to meet your WOSB/EDWOSB set-aside goals in the past, don’t let another year go by without meeting this important goal. Call us at 301-565-0445 – we’re ready to help!
